Tegan Gibaud is many things… a climate researcher, a creative wanderer, and a mindful muse with her roots in Cape Town and her gaze on the horizon. Her European summer was an unfiltered celebration of exploration and the art of living slowly, intentionally, and with an open heart.

Some seasons feel like they belong to the wind - untethered, curious, shaped by the places they pass through. Tegan’s June, July, and August unfolded just like that; a slow, wandering European summer stretching across Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, and Italy.

Her BeachCut Moment

There’s always one piece that becomes the anchor of a trip, the one that slips effortlessly into every moment. For Tegan, it was her Black St Tropez Dress.

Worn across borders, beaches, and cities, it became her go to look - unfussy, feminine, sun-kissed, and endlessly ready for wherever the days took her. Styled with sandals and dainty jewels accent, it moved with her across Europe.

A Minimal, Meaningful Way of Moving

Tegan travels lightly - dresses rolled into backpacks, sandals at the ready, pieces chosen for ease and movement. Convenience doesn’t dull her creativity though; it sharpens it. She dresses for the culture, the colours, the energy of each place - a little bolder, a little freer than she might at home.

Her world is shaped by curiosity: thrifting to understand a community, watching the vibrancy of global traditional dress at the United Nations climate conference in Bonn, visiting museums, slipping between nightlife and nature with equal ease.

She is a hybrid of every travel archetype - explorer, wanderer, night owl, city girl, countryside dreamer. A woman shaped by seasons, not labels.

Moments of Magic

Her most golden memory? Italy’s shoreline - the hush of waves, the warmth of late-afternoon sun, the fizz of supermarket Aperol in a plastic cup, a book open across her lap. That perfect kind of nothingness. 

Her summer scent? Freshwater lakes from Germany to Sweden.

The sound of her summer? Water Flow by Klyne, SABIA QUE NO by reezy, and anything by Bad Bunny.

Tegan reminds us that the most powerful journeys aren’t always planned, and they certainly aren’t perfect. They’re messy and magical, sunlit and unpredictable, full of chance encounters and small rituals - like visiting grocery stores, collecting thrifted treasures, and finding home in movement.
