There are some places that stay with you long after you've left them.

For Gloei founder, Yolanda, Mallorca is one of those places. What began as a holiday in 2022 became somewhere worth returning to - this time for three slow weeks between the island's rugged north coast, mountain villages, and sun-soaked shores.

“Travel, to me, is rarely a vacation, but rather a change of scenery; a new perspective; fresh inspiration”

Mornings were for hidden beaches and winding streets, afternoons for work and creative inspiration, evenings for lingering dinners as the Mediterranean slipped into golden hour. Asked to sum up the island in three words, Yolanda didn't hesitate: “Romantic. Adventurous. Creative.”

The Dress That Became Part of the Story

Every Sun Chaser has one piece that quietly becomes part of their journey. For Yolanda, it was the Wildflower Barcelona Dress - the piece she happened to be wearing when her fiancé proposed.

Against Mallorca's honey-coloured villages and dramatic coastline, the dress moved effortlessly from beach days to celebratory dinners, weaving itself into one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

Three other pieces earned their keep: the Créme Palma Bikini - "perfect for my fiancée era," as Yolanda puts it - and the Burnt Orange and Ivory Fringe Sarong that pulled double duty as a beach cover-up and a dinner-ready wrap over heels.

Packing Smarter, Styling More

Yolanda's approach to packing is simple: keep the palette consistent so every accessory works with every outfit. Bags, shoes, and jackets take up the most suitcase space, so she keeps those to a minimum and lets the rest do the styling.

"I'm styling BeachCult in all kinds of ways to maximize suitcase space - flip-flops and a bikini as a beach cover-up, heels for dinner, or cowboy boots and a fringe jacket when it gets a little chilly."

Inspired by Colour, Creativity & Slow Living

Travelling while prioritising content for her beauty brand meant Yolanda viewed Mallorca through a creative lens.

Every street, café and coastline became a source of inspiration, influencing not only the content she captured but the outfits she packed. The island's soft stone architecture, sparkling coastline and warm Mediterranean light created a colour palette that felt naturally at home alongside BeachCult.

And if she had to recommend just one unforgettable meal? The truffle raviolo at Turo - made even sweeter by the fact that it came moments after saying "yes."

A Yes-Girl Through Every Moment

When asked who she becomes when she travels, Yolanda couldn't choose just one version of herself.

"All of the above! I am a Yes-girl and I don't want to miss out on anything."

From hiking coastal trails to swimming in crystal-clear coves, from hidden restaurants to historic towns, curiosity led every day. If Mallorca had a scent, she imagines it would be bottled sunshine, sea salt, and wild flowers - the kind that lingers long after you've unpacked.

Chasing the Sun, Wherever It Leads

Some trips are remembered for the places. Others, for the moments that quietly change everything. For Yolanda, Mallorca was both - breathtaking coastline, slow Mediterranean days, creative inspiration, and a proposal that turned an unforgettable holiday into the start of a new chapter.

BeachCult travelled beside her through it all, with lightweight yet luxurious pieces built for wherever the day leads next.

Next stop? Malaysia and the Maldives. But Mallorca will always hold a special place in her story - and perhaps inspire your next one too.
